Our Vision
The Vision of the Manawatu Hindu Society (MHS) is to: “Build a Hindu Temple and Community Centre in Manawatu” The temple and community centre will be built on the principles of Hinduism to serve the cultural, social, and religious needs of the community.
Objectives
The Society aims to accomplish the following objectives:
- Promote Hindu culture and religion
- Provide a platform to perform religious functions and to celebrate festivals
- Provide a common platform for social functions and events
- Build a Hindu temple and community centre
The Hindu temple and community centre will help promote and celebrate multiple aspects of the Hindu culture and religion by providing a communal area for people of all ages to meet, pray, learn, and enjoy.
Options
MHS is exploring multiple options for the temple and community centre. There are numerous aspects to consider i.e., specified functionality, finances, realistic, etc.
- Buy land and construct a building
- Buy land with an existing building
- Lease a building (commercial)
- Lease land and building from the council
